Mining, crafting and shopping data for Stanton, Pyro and Nyx

Pick your ship, lasers, modules and gadget, then type in what your scanner says about the rock. You'll see straight away whether you can fracture it.

How the check works

Every number here comes from the game's own data files. The in-game item descriptions are out of date for laser power. For example, the Helix I's text says 3150 but the item actually delivers 3900. This page uses the real values.

A rock loses energy at decayPerMass × mass per second ( in the ship-mining settings). Each laser puts energy in at power × (1 − resistance). If you put energy in faster than the rock loses it, the charge climbs into the window and the rock cracks.

  • Laser power is the head's fracture power, multiplied by every passive module on that head and by any active module you mark as firing.
  • Resistance is the scanned value, multiplied by the laser's resistance modifier, the modifiers of its modules, and the gadget's. Each head works out its own effective resistance, capped between 0% and 100%.
  • MOLE turrets add their delivered power together. Untick a turret if nobody is manning it.
  • If your scan already shows the modified resistance, tick the box under the inputs. The page then removes the first head's own modifiers to recover the rock's base value.

The check only covers power against resistance. It does not model instability or how hard it is to hold the charge window. A "cracks" verdict means you have the power to do it, not that it will be easy.
